What is the duration of course?

12 months (one year) including supervised field training (SFT) during which students are placed for field work in their state probably near their working place.

DHPE course is affiliated to which University?

DHPE course is approved by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), GOI and affiliated by International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, a deemed University under the MoHFW, GOI,.

Whether NIPHTR, Mumbai provide residential facility for the DHPE students?

Yes, DHPE course is full time residential course and hostel accommodation is provided by NIPHTR on subsidised rate to all students.

Whether NIPHTR gives any stipend for DHPE students?

No.

What is the medium of the course?

English.

Is there any course fee ?

No.

What is the weekly schedule of the course ?

Classes are conducted five days a week (except saturdays & sundays). Classes starts from 10.00 am to 5.15 pm daily.

How many papers are there ?

There are total 8 papers, 4 papers in first semester and 4 papers in second semester.

What is the examination pattern?

There are total two semesters (each six months duration) . At the end of each semester, written theory examination with viva-voce will be conducted.

When does the course end ?

Second week of May.

Can I bring my relative / family member to stay with me?

No family member is allowed to stay with students.

Can I stay at my relative’s place during the course ?

It is not allowed.

Do I have to purchase books or study material for the course?

No. Books will be issued from the FWTRC library. Students have to return the books at the end of the course.
